The Dutch company COBBS Industries BV announced that it is building the first anti-drone net system in the Netherlands for the Ministry of Defense.
According to Defence Blog, the company announced last Monday (11/23) that it is constructing the anti-drone net system that will be installed on the country’s PzH 2000NL self-propelled howitzers.
“We are proud to build the first anti-drone net in the Netherlands for the Ministry of Defense, enhancing the protection of the PzH2000NL,” the company said.
The PzH 2000NL, a Dutch-modified version of the German Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer, is operated by the Royal Netherlands Army and has been used in NATO missions, including support for Ukraine.
The new anti-drone net system is being introduced in response to the growing threats posed by small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) in modern artillery and vehicle operations.
The project is part of this broader initiative and represents the Netherlands’ response to the need for passive countermeasures against aerial threats, particularly in the context of lessons learned from the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
